The old tombs has an entrance to another UW (different from the Temple of Ages' UW). No favor, no 1 plat entrance fee required. Just walk through this purple swirling portal behind the Commander npc. There are 4 "missions" in total. Each mission requires you to basically kill all the mobs on the map. In the final mission, the last mobs are the lvl 30 mesmers. Kill them, and green items will drop---for some members of the party, but not everyone. So yes, tombs is now a PvE area.

I got the Milius' Pillar and the Axe tonight in one run, also a perfect smiting staff, 10/10, no mods.

I gave the pillar to a friend since she got the Milius' Eye. I sold the axe yet again for 100k + 5 ecto. That seems to be the going rate.

Got a req 9 max gold storm bow. PC on unid.

Very profitable 2 hours, lol.

Yesterday morning I had probably 10k and no ecto spread across 4 characters. Now I have 148k and 37 ecto in my storage.

PC on a 10/10 smiting staff.

Same precise thing happened to me the first time. I got a plain CANE after 3 hours. On my 4rd trip I got off with a nice green staff though, still not what I hoped for but hang in there.

Yeah it took me about 5 successful runs to get a green, but now I have several. Got 3 in my last run If you hang in there chances are you will get more drops than not.

I am so annoyed with this "New UW". I spent 3 hours playing to get nothing. The distrubution of items is ridiculous. Most of the team got 2 items apart from me and the monks who did all the hard work. Hows that fair? Wheres the incentive to play if you don't get anything decent. All I got was one solitary ecto. Anet should seriously consider the drop rate on such missions, making distribution more fair. By allowing some players more items they are ensuring an unfair balance in wealth and this will ultimately lead to an inbalance in the market.

Don't get me wrong people I enjoy playing with well organised teams, but to play for 3 hours straight and get nothing is a complete let down. At least if you play a 3 hour mission in the game you get skill points and are allowed to move on further in the game and in UW and FoW and Sorrows you have access to missions and lots of XP. This area has no reward other than the possibilty of unfair drops.

You wouldnt see a problem your one of those people getting ridicualously rich from this. However there are some of us that haven't had a single drop. I've played this a number of times now and got absolutely nothing. The fact of the matter the drops are unfair. Some people are getting 2 or 3 whilst others get nothing. For 2-3 hours of play I expect to get something. I'd also be saying the same thing if I was getting 2 or 3 drops per run myself. This new UW needs re-thinking. I want something for completing it!

I've only gotten 4 drops in 6 runs. I gave away the Pillar. I sold the other 3. 1 Bulwark and 2 Axes, lol.

That would be smart as I (and I'm sure many) can relate.
On full completion of it why not a drop for every member or something.

Most people I have mentioned this to in game agree with me, even those who have got many drops. It seems the most sensible thing to do. The last game I was in I finally got a drop. However we all agreed before we started playing that if the drops were no distributed fairly then those who did not get anything would be compensated in some way. Whether by greens or gold.

ya might wanna be careful about how you request a reward to anet... if they hear that this is unfair, they may just tack an xp reward onto it. considering i have way too many skill points, i would much rather have the greens.

and let me go on the record as saying this: with all of the greens, both in sf and the new uw, there is no need for any other type of weapon, unless you have a build that absolutely needs it a certain way. because all of these greens are dropping very, very frequently for some, both in sf and uw, the economy is gonna be screwed. you wont be able to sell anything, everyone will be freakin rich or poor (depending on how many greens you have), and no money will be moving around once people get the weapons they need. everyone will eventually be stuck with all the greens they receive, unable to sell any of it.
i cant see much of a solution to this though... i think anet should have made them much, much rarer in the first place. having awesome weapons that require absolutely no modification was a great idea. making them so easily obtained and so valuable at the same time, however, was not. unless anet changes the economy greatly in the expansion (like new weapons that are better and much rarer than greens), i dont think the economy will hold up very well.
as sereng said, he made about 500k worth of stuff in just one day. while yes, the luck of the drops played a part in this, it still does not seem right.
way back in the day (all the way back to last summer :P), the fissure armor took an eternity to acquire. even with constant farming, there was no way you could get it very quickly. at the current rate, you could get fissure armor within a week, perhaps even a few days, of straight play.
i dont know about you guys, but i just find the current state of the economy proposterous. and this isnt coming from a guy that gets no drops. this is coming from a guy who loves having the power of the greens, yet hates where this power is leading the game on the whole.

Did my first run on this last night, it took about 3 hours. I should have stopped after the first hour because it was late and I had to work early the next morning but I was in a good team and I wanted to make it to the end and get a green!

Unfortunately, my luck being what it is, we got to the end, killed the mesmer bosses and they dropped greens all over the place, one guy got 2, another got 3! everyone else got 1 except me who got sod all
I didn't even get an ecto out of it! you can imagine my frame of mind after that.

I wouldn't have been annoyed about not getting a green if it wern't for other people getting 2 and 3!

They dropped more than enough to have 1 each, so why cant Anet code it so that (if enough greens drop) everyone at least gets 1?

Got to agree the drop distribution (not just in the new UW but all over GW) sucks badly - yes I know it's supposed to be random, but it dosen't appear like that. In quite a few parties if you regularly quest with the same people you can normally predict before the start who'll get the best drops and who'll get sod all as the best drops always seem to go to the same people each time.

For example: My ranger has over 1.6m XP and regularly does quests in the UW yet in 5 month's has yet to be allocatted one ecto drop (and I'm not just talking about short smite trapping trips, but 6-7 hour slogs clearing all areas from the start chamber and smites, to the chaos plane, spawning pool and bone pit), yet other's in the group regularly get allocatted 2 or 3 a trip - this happens to frequently for it to be totally random.

anyone know if the new UW will be permanent or will it be gone tomorow? I see nothing really worth the price about those green weapons. Yes they are perfect but doesnt worth 60k or 100k. I'm getting a bit sick of GW, there isnt much to do anymore except farming green. People just selling and the economy is failing. Just as long as i have a monk healing me then that will be the ultimate "green".

I do agree with some of you that the drop rate sux, i want to unlock runes but all i get are the one i already unlocked.

this particular run was my second first run i got 2 and would have been happy to give 1 up but after checking every 1 had a drop i didn't need to.now i play this way all the time same when going through missions and quests i usual just drop my picks for the team as i don't sell anything now that the market is dead.on the high end quests everything goes to the merchant gold or not.every other run (about 5 or 6) i got 1 drop which is fair still sad on not getting any off the items i want for my chars except the sword but they will be mine soon enougth.so as some 1 who is relatively lucky so far i still think that things should be made more even.sf and gf never bothered me that much if i got nothing because there are quests to do,which is good for me as i am a completion freak and always strive for that 100% goal,and they don't take to long to do.although it would be nice to have some sort of definate reward worth the 2-3 hours of straight and difficult play,even longer on a noob team,because i know ppl who still haven't got a green after 6 or so runs and have just given up on the area.

i also set up my own team build and strategy which up to now (other than multiple disconnection runs) has not failed.but it's getting hard to keep hold of the good players because of the bad distribution.

p.s. good luck to you all on your future runs and fingers crossed that your green time is coming soon.

CRY ME A RIVER!!!!...... WHY DOESNT THE RAZORSTONE DROP ON EVERY RUN EITHER?????.... Its called motivation to go down there again.... This discussion about the new green items is turned into a pout circle....

Why dont u try to get onto a fair team of people you know, and divide the items up after ward... 7 drop 99% of time.. we run team of 7, and try to make sure everyone gets one...

well unfortunately my friend ppl like us are few and far between in this game just as in life.also i'm not crying over nothing just done another run with nothing to show but a little bit of coin from the merchant and yet another full run to my belt.but again i shall return there as i love the challenge of the place and the buzz of seeing those cheering spirits pop up yet again to salute our efforts.my only problem is,as i'm sure many more have noticed,the best stuff always seems to go to the same ppl while poor stay poor.i myself am ok cash wise has i made some money back in days when you could sell stuff.what do the new players have to make cash now how can they ever hope to get fow armor for instance,answer e-bay.another good point on the new area is the teams,i now have no space on my friends list because of all the great players i have teamed with and added for future runs.yeah you still get your noobs and cry-babys moaning because you will not listen to there orders which you know will get every 1 killed.but on the noob scale every 1 has to have there first go and i have finished the run with a couple of teams that had never seen the 3rd map.in this instance rather than moaning and dishing out childish names i find that patience and regular tactic's talk works fine as appossed to every 1 getting annoyed and leaving,which just wastes every 1 time.

oh and on a lighter note any 1 know if these new items for the new chars realy exist because the screens i have seen so far look rather convincing,and if so where are they dropped.
